Modest Skateshop started in 2005 to continue the skate tradition in Berwyn area. They have a full skate team and 2 dvds in 4 years! Oh and did I mention the shop looks SUPER raw inside, check more pictures below.

SMLTWN shop, located in DeKalb has a great environment inside and a fun one outside. The wood interior just looks damn sick plus their shop decks look super slick. One of the best parts of SMLTWN is their beasty team featuring Shawn Turner, Marshall Winter and Joey Adamczyk. Go to their vimeo account for your self and watch a few videos, no other words are necessary.
SMLTWN (pronounced smalltown) is a core skate shop in the middle of the corn fields of DeKalb and the NIU campus. Our team riders are Shawn Turner, Marshall Winter, and Joey Adamczyk. We’ve been here since May 2007 supporting and growing the local skate scene and trying to provide a positive outlet for the kids. Thanks everybody for your support!
Yeah Boardshop, who also runs http://skateillinois.com is a shop you might have seen on the bottom of shop decks if you skate in Illinois. I know I’ve seen a bunch of their decks at different parks around town. They carry the standard shop gear but more importantly, they’re a no bull fun-loving place. Also posted up a video of part of the team below.
Here’s a quote from Steve:
We opened on March 19th of 2008. Skater owned, and operated. We’re neither Gangster nor Hesh. We’re just a real skateshop. Team members are; Kevin Erst, Steve Perdue, Pat O’Brien, Pat Franklin, Marisa Dal Santo, Ben Smith, CJ Kelly, and Scott Gall. Thanks for your support.
So this is the first shop feature on Lurk99Cents and I wanted this one to be a special one, awww. I currently go to college in a town called Champaign, IL and the local shop there is Board Boutique. Everyone around calls it the shop and it’s basically our meeting place before heading out to a spot. But anyway, Board Boutique is about a year and a half old with a great selection of nicely priced goodies. The best part about the shop by far is the boutique/home feel to it. The hand crafted and painted wood trim all over doesn’t strike you immediately but once you look at all the detail put into the shop you become amazed. Job well done to Dustin Stuart, the owner. Check the pictures below for some more insight.
